Avondale Ministries

People gathered around a table outdoors near parked cars, serving and receiving food at a community meal or event.
People lining up outside for a free breakfast ministry, with tables holding paper bags of food and a sign reading 'Avondale Breakfast ministry,' set against a brick and white wall in an urban setting.

Every Monday morning, volunteers serve breakfast and a sack lunch, those experiencing homelessness or financial struggles in Avondale. They also collect and give hygiene items, clothing, and bus passes.

Beyond providing essentials, the ministry focuses on forming relationships and sharing God’s love through conversation, compassion, and community.  Our teams are always welcoming parishioners to get to know the residents of Avondale.

Our Avondale Ministry is housed out of Room 226 at Saint Stephen’s. The door remains unlocked for anyone who would like to stop by and prepare a lunch sack.

You can also donate the supplies necessary for making bags or a case of water for Monday teams.

This ministry is a long-standing partnership with the community of Avondale. We work alongside other local churches to make this ministry much more than a feeding ministry. We deeply care for all of our friends, we use our voices to advocate for the community, and we come together to help those in need of assistance. We believe it is our call as Christians to stand next to those who need us most and offer care where possible.
