Children's Ministry

Saint Stephen’s offers Sunday morning Christian formation programs for children ages 2 through 6th grade. Registration for 2018-2019 is online HERE.  

Classes meet from 10:10-11am

Two & Three Year Old Class, Room 124 in the Nursery:
Two and three year olds will learn about God’s love for them through Bible stories, songs, art and play. 

4K and Kindergarten, Room 40 in Carpenter Hall:

This class uses the Godly Play approach to explore faith.  Godly Play is based on Montessori principles and uses both wonder and play to enhance a child's spiritual experience. Your children will become more fully aware of the mystery of God's presence in their lives.

1st-4th Grades, see Rotation Chart in Carpenter Hall Lobby for room assignment each week:    

First through fourth graders will explore the Bible and their relationship with God by rotating through hands-on learning stations. Learning stations include: art, Bible games, Godly Play, cooking and theater. 

5th & 6th Grades, Room 53 in Carpenter Hall:

Fifth and sixth graders will revisit the Bible's greatest stories, investigate major biblical themes and discover how the Bible relates to their own lives.This class uses a Bible-centered curriculum developed especially for this age group to get to know God and each other better. Every fifth and sixth grader will receive a Bible to use on Sunday mornings and keep as their own. 

6:30-7:00 Wednesday night activities & programs for children ages infant to Grade 6

  • Nursery with childcare and activities for babies through age 3 are available during the program hour in the nursery area
  • Monthly Intergenterational and family activities
  • Club 56- for 5th and 6th grade *Meet in Room 53 Carpenter Hall   

Children’s Choir programs on Wednesday nights in Room 143:

  • Children's Choir (Ages 4K, 5K and 1st grade) 5:00-5:25
  • Junior Choir (Ages 2nd-6th grade) 5:30-6:00
  • Junior Handbell Choir (4th grade and up with prior ringing experience) 6:00-6:30
  • Rainbow Bell Choir (2nd grade and up) 6:30-6:55
