2007 Spring Tea Report

Our 10th annual Spring Tea and Fashion Show was another huge success!  Once again we brought in over $20,000!  This is amazing considering that we are limited with space issues on ticket sales.  Combined with over $3,000 in ticket sales, the silent auction and the tea and garden shops brought in almost $17,000.

Thank you, thank you to so many women and men that assisted us with preparation for the tea, especially thank you to our tea chairmen this year, Pat Bills and Dorothy Cochran. There are so many people to thank in addition to Pat and Dorothy - the committee chairmen that worked extra long hours: Auction - Chappell Anderson and Evelyn O'Leary, Fashion Show -Stacy Kingren, Food and Kitchen - Vera Britton and Jeanne Shearer, Garden Shop - Susan Cleage and Lisa Thompson, Table Hostesses - Martha Black, Tea Shop - Diane Hightower, Ticket Sales - Melville Newman, Tea Advisor and Mastermind of our Tea Fiona Watts.

Special thank you to the wonderful cookbook team: Kaye Adams, Jane Pounds and Dee Shirley assisted by many others.

We had articles in The Birmingham News 3/28/07

The Afternoon Tea & Fashion Show is an event not to be missed.

For one Sunday afternoon, the Parish Hall is transformed with an incredible array of creative tables, set with unique china and imaginative centerpieces.

Relax and enjoy the delicious scones and other savories and sweets we will serve you, while enjoying seeing the latest ladies fashions modeled by parishioners.

Our Silent Auction and Tea and Garden Shoppes are open all day for you to shop and find incredible items made by the talented members of St. Stephens plus great deals.  All purchases support ECW outreach and in-reach projects.

There are not enough words to describe such a wonderful event, and all the good that comes from a day of tea, scones, fashion, fellowship, and shopping!

The Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show is the ECW’s main fundraiser to support our Outreach and In-Reach programs.  These are some of the programs we have supported in the past:

Plus these St. Stephen's programs:

and the ECW Diocesan Pledge.

Thank you for helping us support these important programs.

There are many ways you can help.  Volunteer your time or your talents, donate items, food, or money.
